Download this https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B-yM_qnM8ZPRNWU5R0tnblhUYkk  and stick it in your Fastboot folder on C: Drive then open a command prompt and type fastboot flash boot kernel.sin then hit enter and connect your phone in fastboot mode

Takes seconds to complete - Once done your phone should reboot if not then you may have to use Flashtools or the new Sony repair program

Recovery mode is a separate file which you need to flash using fastboot the proper file to use is the nozomi file found on my drive here https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B-yM_qnM8ZPRU2VWazlla19tWE0

To use as you just did with the kernal.sin you need to copy it to your fastboot folder and type in

fastboot flash boot recovery-nozomi.img then your phone will boot into recovery then to fix that re-flash the kernal.sin
