Xperia arc home screen rotates automatically

Since I updated my Xperia Arc, the following happens: when I'm charging the phone, the home screen automatically rotates if I do rotate the phone and the icons disappear temporarily, but only the home screen. When I open a program, the phone returns to normal. And when I return to the home screen, turns to rotate. I have disconnected the automatic rotation.

What is the reason for that? I do not see any use. The contrary, is quite irritating that the phone is locked while the screen is rotated. When I lay on my side to read, it is inconvenient to have two forms of the screen. Is ther no way to disable that function?

installing a different launcher, let me see if I understand correctly, if your phone it's charging and you rotate your phone landscape then the screen will rotate landscape and you don't like that, correct? if so then there isn't any option but to install a new launcher.

umm.. not necessarily.. as far as I can remember, there is an option to disable homescreen rotation under the Display Settings.

yes but not while it's connected to the charger or HDMI

That's correct, only when the phone i charging. If the phone isn't charging, then the screen doesn't rotate when I rotate the phone.

I don't know if I want to install a new launcher. If I do, wich one is good enough?

This function rotates every program, not only to rotate the home screen when the phone is charging.

I don't think it's worth installing a new launcher but Launcher pro it's a good option

Really? I thought that what the option was for, given the arc didnt have the option to rotate the homscreen until ICS.  Never really tried disabling it myself, since I quite like it
