Wifi/USB hotspot problem after update

Hello, I'm from Venezuela and I'm having this problem after I updated to 4.1.B.0.587 version. I can activate the hotspot but the PC or any device which connects to the hotspot can't access internet, my phone model is a st18a.

Sounds like it would be wise to try performing a repair of your phone's software.

Same here with an ST18a.

Don't bother with the repair ... it won't work.  I do not know why the Sony reps on here keep recommending that.

The 'a' versions all suffer from this.  It started happening with the 2nd and 3rd release of ICS.  First release was fine.

I have TWICE NOW had to send my phone into Sony Service to get Gingerbread put back on to get hotspot and tethering back working.

yeah you are right, it didn't work (sony xperia support's "solution") ... Big Fail for Sony ...

Got my phone back from Sony Service after an 11 day turn around.  Wifi hotspot and usb tethering are back working.  At least this time they sent it back next day air!

mine is a lt26i same problem dropped wifi, tried all the repair my phone options including the secret hand shake one holding down the volume butons and so on.
