Which 3G bands are supported with this device?

There is conflicting information out there on the internet.

The Sony website shows it is 3G quad band:

UMTS/HSPA 850/900/1900/2100

However, GSMarena.com show there are 2 versions of the Xperia S, the LT26a and the LT26i. LT26i is for HSDPA 900 and LT26a is for HSDPA 850:

Hopefully GSMArena have it wrong.  I trust Sony to know the details of their handset more than GSMArena.  However, it has put some doubt in my mind.  So I wish to know if I can access both 850 MHz and 900 MHz with the same Xperia S handset, as I was about to pre-order this device but am now unsure if it will be suitable for me as I would require access to both of these bands (850 and 900).

it's a global phone, so there shouldn't be the i and a version anymore

Anytime, remember that the Xperia Ion it is compatible with LTE (4G) and that there are new phones yet to be announced
