Yesteday I connected my Xperia Go to my computer in order to update the software via PC Companion. What happens mid-update though is that the software on the computer crashes. When I start up the software again and attempt to resume the software updating process, I am prompted to turn on my phone by holding in the ON button and the "VOLUME DOWN" button at the same time. When I do this, the phone turns on, and the SONY logo is on the screen.
From this point off, nothing else happens. Supposedly it should take some time for the phone to start up again while the logo is appearing on the screen, but I left it on OVER NIGHT! and also had it on 4 hours this morning, it doesn't go ANYWHERE!
I have tried restarting it by holding ON and volume button up. When I do that, and turn it on again, it resumes to the same SONY screen. NOTHING WORKS.

Update Service does not require phone to be switched on during software repair.
Did you also try with another PC?

Should I expect this option to work when my computer won't even recognize the phone anymore? it will not respond to anything, and it will not connect to my computer.
thanks for posting this nelarsen, i had exactly the same problem today and I'm going away for a few days tomorrow and couldn't afford to be without my phone. I followed the advice from the moderator who answered your question and mine is now working again. If you hadn't posted, I may not have got my fix before my flight leaves. Cheers again mate
