Solved! Go to Solution.
have you unlocked the bootloader?
flashed a Custom ROM?
which OS do you have on your PC?
try SUS instead of PCC
Update Service (SUS)

Even I was having this issue but it is not related to phone. I tried updating first on my PC having Windows 8.1 with Blackberry USB wire but didn't succeed and was getting the same error you are mentioning. Then I tried update on Windows 7 with original Sony USB wire came along with Xperia SP. I did succeed.
In simple words, you need a proper computer to update to work.
thnks it was usb 3.0 problem connected to usb 2.0 and it worked fine
anytime
I too faced the same problem. My lap does not have a USB 2 port and I believe most of the latest laptops do not have a USB 2 port. I had to use my friend's laptop to update my phone. I think it’s high time that we should have a solution for USB 3 port. At least PC Companion should warn us to use USB 2 port to update.
