Hello friends.
My x10 mini pro is was working just fine until 3 days ago. But all of a sudden, it wasn't letting me send sms anymore. I still am able to receive sms though. Its just the problem with sending sms.
Whenever i try to send an sms, it shows 'sending' for like 4 seconds and then shows 'could not send'.
Been having this issue since 3 days and it still persists.
Let me tell you what all i have done. (Except for restarting the phone a million times)
1. Network tower issue: To check if the issue was with the tower, i moved a good 30 miles away to another tower and it still had the issue. Plus, my other friends living just next door are able to send and receive sms through the same network operator.
2. Phone software issue: To check if it was an issue with the phone, i flashed my phone with the pc companion and installed a fresh copy of android 2.1. But the problem persists.
3. Sim: I removed and re-inserted the sim card a few times just to make sure the contact was proper with the chip. And it was properly connected.
Now, the only thing thats left in my mind is if my operator changed the message centre number of the network.
But then, there's no way of changing or editing the message centre number in android 2.1.
It used to be in Home screen > Settings > Wireless controls > Mobile networks > SMS centre in 1.6.
But unfortunately, it aint there anymore in 2.1.
If anyone could PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me out with how to edit/reset the message centre number it'd be of great help.
Also, any other tentative issues that could be causing the problem that you might know of. Please let me know. I am a travelling guy and most of the contact i make with my world is through sms.
Eagerly waiting for a solution.
Cheers,
Shrinivas.

Once you tap on access point names press the MENU button -> tap on add New (apn) enter the info and then MENU and then save it
Ok I found the right info now and add it. It was not there.
If APN should be there for sms I would never be able to send or receive I think.
But here the problem is the delay. Do I miss sth? Sorry to insist:smileyconfused:
once you get the APN settings, turn your phone off/on and wait few minutes, it should be able to sync all your sms/mms soon
ok, i did it and the sms finally arrives and even ... twice (another regular issue:smileysad:), but I still have doubts... otherwise it should be great!
I will test again tomorrow and let you know.
In any way, I really apreciate your effort.:smileylove:
you are probably getting sms twice for some other reason, maybe they sent them to you twice, but it should work now
i face same problem in x10 mini pro .... after dailing*#*#4636*#*# if i enter the messege centr no. .... it gives update error ant if i click refresh then it again gives error refresh error ...... plzz help me .... i unable to send txts........
backup everything then
settings -> privacy -> settings reset and that should solve it, you probably have a LOT of SMS/MMS which it trigger a bug
if that doesn't work then
settings -> privacy -> factory reset
I just recently started to get this error! I tried to resend it about 4 times and kept getting "cannot send" error.
So I decided to send myself a text message and guess what? It worked. I then send my bro a message and again, it worked.
So, it look the 1st message was blocked by the recepiant. He sent me some weird text about "Africans and the paranomal"... It was a weird text message.
So I replied back WTF is you smoking? And that's when I got the "cannot send error". Not sure what is going on but he is either blocked my message or his phone has some type of virus.
Just follow the Amiee's instruction and restart your mobile. It worked great.
