Successor for Xperia active (with ANT+ Support)?

Hi,

unfortunately XPERIA active is not available for sale any more.

Which of the current XPERIA phones is comparable to 'active'?

I'd like it:

  • small
  • robust
  • with ANT+ support
  • nice-to-have: outdoor (water resistent)

Seems like Sony doesn't want ANT+ any longer!?

ANT+ support is the reason why I bought 'neo', my brother 'active' and my wife also 'active'.

I know a lot of mountain-bikers (using Garmin *) who want to track their trips with their mobile device.

XPERIA S is too big and is not handy.

XPERIA ion is even bigger!

@Sony,

make us happy again and relaunch some kind of 'active'. We love it!

The new Xperia Z1 has ant+ and is waterproof.  I'm tempted however it is a very large phone, where as my Active is compact and great for outdoor activities.  Will there be any 2014 phone releases similar to the Active, perhaps a smaller version of the Z1?

Just wanted to double check with someone from Sony that the Acro S still ships with ANT+ support as it no longer seems to be on the list in the Connectivity table in the White Paper. Don't want to buy a phone specifically with ANT+ to get one that doesn't on newer models.

thanks

Simon

My Xperia active died during a waterproof test (I was showing off). I would buy the Xperia active again if it's available. Had the display replaced but it's not as good as it used to be. The touchscreen is too sensitive and registers a touch when I am scrolling. I dont want a mammoth of a phone (read 5" screen). I want a phone that I can just pop into my running shorts & stop worrying if it's gonna get wet.

Sony please give us an ANT+ phone that's waterproof & has a screen size between 3-3.5".

I have Xperia Z1c and I would better return to my old Xperia Active. That was the best phone ever. These new Xperias have stupid big LCD, bad to hold in hand. Skeleton of this new phones are full of double-sided tapes -> there is almost no screws -> so ruggeness of this phone is very very poor Slightly_frowning_Face ...I'm still waiting for some new Xperia Active.
