My sony xperia never died on me until yesterday. When I woke up, my phone wouldn't turn on so I went and charged it. I waited 2 hours and no results. I looked on these forums and saw that people took out the battery for 10 minutes first. I did this and when I put the battery in I put the phone on charge.. After having it on charge the sony logo appeared after a minute, but suddenly disappeared. This happened two more times, but the phone will not turn on. Can anyone help me?

I've actually managed to turn it on by holding the volume down and power button at the same time between the times when the sony logo appears. To my surprise, my device turned on but was at 3% battery. The weird thing is my phone didn't detect that my charger was plugged in.. :S After this it died again! After this I took the battery out for 60 seconds and then put the battery back in. I then put the charger in and held the volume down and power button. After about 3 minutes of holding thesse two keys, my led BAR LIGHT(yes the bar this time..) started glowing and then the sony logo came on and it showed the battery drain sign and let me know that it was charging. I can now see the battery drain sign each time I press power and I believe it is charging.. I will post back if I have anymore issues. Thank you for your quick replies.
Did you try to repair the phone using SUS?
If you mean trying to update through the sony update service program then yes I have. I get stuck on the part when it asks me to plug in the usb cable. Nothing happens after this, I can't get my computer to recognize my phone. When my phone is on charge.. theres a red led light. After a minute, the sony logo appears and then it goes away along with the red led light. I have to press the power button for the red led light to appear again, why is this?
My guess is that you need to take it to a Sony service center. Because all repairing tools (SUS,Flashtool) require the phone to be in the flash mode (volume down button+connecting the USB cable).
But I could be wrong. So wait may be someone here can help you.
run SUS > once it ask you to connect your phone on flashmode > connect the usb cable > press and hold the power button & volume up until the phone turns off, imediatly press and hold the volume down key

also before you repair it with SUS you have to charge your phone
connect it to a wall charger > press and hold the power button & volume up for 10 seconds > let it charge for an hour > then
run SUS > once it ask you to connect your phone on flashmode > connect the usb cable > press and hold the power button & volume up until the phone turns off, imediatly press and hold the volume down key

Try to charge phone via USB cable connected to PC. Anyway phone SHOULD be able to update via SUS. It doesn't matter if your battery have only 3% or 1%, it must work
Let us know how it goes
@Rado77, the first boot after the update needs at least 30% (if not 40%) of the battery.
Yes? I never noticed this, and I installed ICS/GB appr. 7 times. Anyway directly after first reboot he can plug USB cable to phone from PC and no problem....
