Looks like the battery is knackered
So you can either contact Sony to find your nearest service centre http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/
or buy a replacement battery from eBay for example and then use this guide to replace it yourself

Have you let it charge for several hours before re attempting to turn it back on
It may also be that as a result of a total discharge you have damaged the battery so if the charging as per my beginning doesn't work then contact Sony for further help in regards to locating a Service centre http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

The charger light does not come on when plugged in to charge, have left the phone at home plugged in and hopefullly it will change and will look at it again at lunchtime.

Me too. battery run completely down overnight. Now I have it connected to the power cable. It turn on, last 5 secs, turn off again and keep turning on and off in a never ending loop. How fixed it?
