How did it happen: I was trying to download an application from Android Market, which was pre-installed in my phone. Before i could download the app, a box saying: unable to install due to an error, poped out. I then tried to restart my phone as i thought this would resolve the problem but the screen blacked out just before it changed from the screen with the word sony to another one with the word Xperia. I did try force restart and force shut down for times, but they just wouldn't help, my phone just never turned on.
What did i do then: i brought it to the service centre, they told me it was a system crash and they will fix it for me. I left my phone there for almost a week, and i got back my phone just a few hours ago, with everything going back to normal. BUT, when i tried to download an app from the market, same thing happened again.
Please take note that i'd bought this Sony Xperia S 3 weeks ago and the breaking down of its system after just 2 weeks of usage is really making me upset and i'm starting to lose confidence in this model. I don't think the problem is with me because i only installed apps from android market, before that problem occured. So i'm hereby, sincerely, wishing for a solution.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Yes i did, it only resets all the datas but there's still an error with the market. The market hasn't been updated automatically for android market to google play and to no surprise, the downloading error still exists.
i'm out of solutions now , i tried to help..
i guess you have to take it to a service centre then..:smileyplain:
I know you've tried so, thanks. I will bring it there tomorrow and see what they can do about it. =/
hmm , keep us updated..
Good news Slimshaddy, the market problem has been resolved.
A moment ago, i thought i'd just give my phone a last try before sending it to the service centre.
What did i do is that at first, i repaired the my phone using SUS. When it was done, i tried factory data reset. After this, i had been waiting for few hours before i logged in to my google account to see if the market would be updated to google play.
Miraculously, after a few hours, when i tried logging in to google account and open the Android Market, it automatically changed to Google play and the error no longer exists.
I don't know why didn't it work before this but i think the problem has been resolved now.
A big thanks to you. 😃
wow great news i'm glad it was fixed. could have been a temproray issue with the market. but whatever , its fixed now.
you'r welcome
Dear ( slimshaddy )
YOU ARE THE BEST .. YOU ARE THE MAN
Oooooooooooh My GOD
........
I am trying to catch my breathes now .. Hahahahahaaaa
Here is the story , this afternoon I was trying to update my ( Sony Xperia S ) through PC Companion application , after it completed the download of updates and start installing , it show me error message on the PC , saying your installation did not complete .. then my phone stopped working .. it was like a BRICK .. the system crashed ..
I tried several times to connect to the phone using toooooo many applications .. NO WAY
I found only one way thorugh PC Companion , which should reset the phone to factory settings , which means to delete everything .. ( Which I don't like ) ..
The only thing that was important to me is the contact list .. That was the only thing I was trying to recover .. because it's a real disaster if I lost my whole contact list .. OMG .. I can't imagine that ..
then I read these comments , and used the update service that you talked about , installed the application through your link .. then it starts downloading the software update , file size was 504mb .. after that .. IT WORKS .. YES YES YESSS
Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaank Yooooooouuuuuuuuu .. :DDDDDDDDDD
I really thank you for this info .. you are amazing
1 Billion Thanks for you
