Sony xperia S system crash.

Sony xperia S system crash.

How did it happen: I was trying to download an application from Android Market, which was pre-installed in my phone. Before i could download the app, a box saying: unable to install due to an error, poped out. I then tried to restart my phone as i thought this would resolve the problem but the screen blacked out just before it changed from the screen with the word sony to another one with the word Xperia. I did try force restart and force shut down for times, but they just wouldn't help, my phone just never turned on.

What did i do then: i brought it to the service centre, they told me it was a system crash and they will fix it for me. I left my phone there for almost a week, and i got back my phone just a few hours ago, with everything going back to normal. BUT, when i tried to download an app from the market, same thing happened again.

Please take note that i'd bought this Sony Xperia S 3 weeks ago and the breaking down of its system after just 2 weeks of usage is really making me upset and i'm starting to lose confidence in this model. I don't think the problem is with me because i only installed apps from android market, before that problem occured. So i'm hereby, sincerely, wishing for a solution.

I've successfully reinstalled the software, and my phone gets back to normal again. But when i sign in to android market with my G+ account, there is an error again. I'm sure that, if i restart my phone right now, the same problem will reoccur. Therefore i think that Android Market is the main cause to this problem.

Yes, i managed to sign in with my Gmail account. There is no problem with this. The only problem is that whenever i try to download an app the error occurs.

I'm currently in Malaysia and my country doesn't ban google. Everything was okay when i first bought my phone, i could download games and apps from Android Market(google play) and play them, there was no problem at all. Then the error just appeared out of nowhere.

Hi slimshaddy,

Unfortunately I've got the exact same problems as Karl. I'm in Australia though.

I kept getting an error when I tried updating some apps this morning so I switched off and on my phone in hopes that it would fix the problem but it just kept restarting itself at the "Sony" and "Xperia" screens. I've re-installed the software and everythings working again - I've signed in to my google account as well - but I still cannot download or update apps.  The market didn't even update itself to Google Play. I also can't restore my phone using the PC Companion - it says my phone is incompatible with the backup file even though I backed it up just two days ago.

This all only started when I updated my phone last night. Could that be the problem?

well go to the path i told you above ( settings > app....)

and when you select market \ play store , you will see an option of uninstall updates..

also ,

try this....

go to settings > privacy > factory data reset.....

i think this will be the solution to the market problem.... try this and let me know..

try to update the software by this..

and maybe play store is having some problems.. dont update or download anything for now , try to download after 2-3 days..

slimshaddy, nothing has actually worked. All the solutions that you've taught me, they only get my phone back to be able to function, they haven't really solved the market error. I'm probably going to bring my phone back to service centre and ask for a replacement.

did you try factory data reset i mentioned above..??
