Sorry to hear you lost your photo's but you got a new phone - You may want to just incase you have a simalar issue in the future and thats to backup your photo's etc - I don't use PCC, I simply plug it into my Pc and copy the files to my Pc
2 Options
1. Run a repair using either PCC or SUS found here http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/
2. Download a .ftf file and using Flashtools manually flash your phone - A good guide for doing this can be found here http://www.xperiablog.net/2013/05/30/install-jelly-bean-to-your-xperia-s-using-flashtool-tutorial/ and a list of firmware can be found in various places 1 been XDA here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599303 and Xperia Blog here http://www.xperiablog.net/forum/resources/categories/xperia-s.19/
Thanks for that Thommo, downloaded as stated, followed instructions, still can't find phone/software,I have red LED in top left corner when plugged into laptop or charger,it stays on for about 2 mins then blank?
For the repair to work you need to hold volume up and power button untill you feel 3 vibrations 1 after the other not 1 on it's own, 3 will come soon after then after running the program you will be asked at some point to hold volume down then connect your phone, This enters the phone into Flashmode and should if the driver is installed begin the repair
Does it matter if sim is in or out?
No not at all - What the program will do is read the customization number to install or re-installed the correct region firmware
Thanks Thommo, that worked, downloaded, but I still can't see anything (blank screen)
Strange!! - It may be a case of now as you say the repair worked that it needs a good charge or you may need to force shutdown then restart (Volume up and power untill you feel 3 vibrations)
If that still doesn't work then it sounds like it will need to go to a Sony repair centre
You can contact Sony about this here http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/ simply select your country and options will hopefully appear for you
Thommo many thanks for your excellent guidance,I will let you know how I get on,again many thanks.
