sony xperia ion restarts when the gps

In general, such a problem ... gps enabled and is not run applications that use it all right, but once you launch any application that tries to determine the location of 30 seconds after the screen goes out and goes to the phone restarts ... anyone any ideas?

I have some problem.

The solution is change in file /etc/gps.conf line SUPL_HOST=supl.sonyericsson.com with SUPL_HOST=supl.google.com.
You need root for this.

I also modified the next line with SUPL_PORT = 7276 . and it seems to work

@Mezozoy

You saved my phone.

Your work is brilliant.

@fabiofabio

I just changed the SUPL_HOST line then reboot and left the SUPL_PORT line alone.

after having this problem several times, I stated using cyanogen Rom 4.4.4 on my Xperia without any issues, but I didn't wanted to leave my stock rom fot this issue... and finally someone got my phone back alive... thanks to @mezozoy...it works

Hi Mezozoy,

That was terrific, my Sony XPeria ION usefulness reduced a lot after the GPS started to crash the phone. Your solution gave back the original productivity to my phone.

Kudos to you!!

But I had still few issues in getting my GPS to lock and therefore installed the Faster GPS app and that did the trick for me.

Thanks again.

Any other solution,people?
I've actually gone crazy over the past few weeks,thinking something was wrong with just my phone, but seeing so many people face the same problem gives me a lot of hope Grinning_Face
i've already done factory reset(more than once), used PC Companion to repair the phone, hard reset too, but nothing has worked.

Hi Gurleen,

Yes, many people have this problem, this got to do with a faulty web services from Sony.

Mezozoy found this problem and also has provided us with a solution.

For this you need to root your mobile. (You can google, for steps to root your phone). After rooting you can apply the changes recommended by Mezozoy. I have quoted below Mezozoy's post.

"The solution is change in file /etc/gps.conf line SUPL_HOST=supl.sonyericsson.com with SUPL_HOST=supl.google.com."

I have the same problem,

but I think is not correct that I must boot my phone, when the problem is due to a sony error.

they must solve the problem, not me hacking my phone...

I paid a sony phone also to have a good service.
