Sony India will not service phones bought outside India.

I have a Sony Xperia P smartphone which I bought from UAE 2 years ago. I am having issues with battery for last few weeks.

When I visited you Service center in kottayam, Kerala, they are not even ready to service my phone even for service charge saying it is not bough in India.

Since the phone has non-removable batteries now I need to go to UAE to get get a new battery installed.

What should i do?

You need to contact Xperia care and ask what options are available http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/

As your phone is over 2 years old i would look into a 3rd party repairer......

Contacted xperia care and they have given me canned responce.

"As per your query, we would like to inform you that Sony Mobile Customer Support does not have the possibilities to provide warranty information checking through IMEI number so we would suggest you to visit nearest Sony Authorized Service Centre so that our engineers can assist you better.

For location of the Sony Mobile Authorized Centre which is nearest to you, kindly access the following web link:

http://somc.servicetrack.in/

We recommend you take along the proof of purchase while visiting the Sony Authorized Service Centre.

Also, we would like to inform you that through IMEI number Service Centre provides you the information that the Sony handset that you own is manufactured for Indian market or not as the device has been purchased online and Sony does not support any third party website.

However, if the handset is manufactured for indian market only you will get one year warranty and through proof of purchase (bill) you can claim it."

Just like Thommo said, this forum is for us, users, to help each other, you need to contact Sony directly, if they can't help you, you can follow dandy63's advice and check with a third party repair center.
