Phone 'paired but not connected' to PC

I have paired my Experia Mini Pro to my Toshiba PC running Vista without any trouble but it will not connect. When I open the Toshiba Bluetooth Wizard it finds the phone but then goes to a file transfer interface which I do not want to use.

I have followed the instructions on how to connect the phone with no success. I'd appreciate any help. Many thanks.

what feature do you want to use ?

Not really sure, to be honest! 😉 Just wanted to find out how to connect the phone in case I want to use Bluetooth at any stage. It connects perfectly well using the USB cable, though. I suppose the main issue was that, coming from a Nokia, I was used to using Nokia PC Suite where you can do everything by Bluetooth. I have already bought and installed Android Sync to sync the phone's calendar with MS Outlook and that works fine.

I'm dreading having to connect the phone to my car's handsfree system - in fact I've put it off for ages! 😉

well yes i came from nokia 2 Dizzy_Face

i use windows 7 on my laptop..

i was having same issues..

also, it always say paired but not connected..

go to device and monitor and remove your phone..

open the bluetooth setting and select add device..add your device

note : in my laptop the status of my xperia arc is "needs troubleshooting"ie not all features have been installed..

but i'm able to send file from my laptop to my phone and vice - versa..

i can play songs of my phone in my laptop..

well thats it Smiling_Face_with_open_mouth_&_closed_Eyes no more features i want to use..

go to settings > wireless and networks > bluetooth settings

and make sure your device is discoverable..

also i have made my latop discoverable so its easy to xchange files..

Yup, have tried all that but still the phone is saying 'paired but not connected'. I even downloaded the latest Toshiba Bluetooth Stack software and reinstalled it on my PC, but no help. I did try sending a file to the phone from the PC which worked OK, though. Most odd! Thanks for your input - kind of you, Slim.

Hi,

I also have the same problem.

Actually, I was trying to connect the

newly bought sony ericsson xperia pro with my Windows 7 PC.

The PC could detect but failed to load the driver.

The Phone is also saying that it could connect but not paired.

Can you please help me how to slove the problem?
