Not able to connect xperia tipo to ubuntu

I can connect my Xperia Tipo to Windows but not able to connect Ubuntu. Y is it so ? Is there any changes that i need to make to my phone ?

When I connect my phone via USB in Ubuntu, it is showing Internal storage and Mass torage connected. But I am not able to see d drive in my system. What should i do connect my phone to Ubuntu.

Also wen i connect other phones to my Ubuntu system, it is connecting. My phone alone is not getting connected.

Hi Sargunan,

1:- unplug the phone from you computer,

2:- go to, settings/xperia/connectivity/USB connection mode

3:- switch from (MTP) to (MSC)

4:- re-connect to your computer. It should work now!

Unfortunately there is not a lot we can do for you regarding this as this is not a supported operating system. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

What a rediculous answer, the xperia runs Andriod a LINUX kerneled operatioing system. why should there be any reason at all that it won't connect to Ubuntu? Which is the worlds fastest growing LINUX system,! The only reason I can think of that it won't work would be when Sony are actively blocking conections to operating systems that aren't on thier payroll. so if thats the case don't say Linux is not supported just tell the truth and say WE ARE BLOCKING YOUR ACCESS!!!

I'm sorry, I'm using Ubuntu 12.04.2.

I changed my connection settings but the only result is that in "computer", now I have a "Sony Mass storage" device, which I cannot open...

Where is my error?
