No update yet for SI 1261-8979

Hi,

I was wondering who also didn't receive a notification for the official Jelly Bean yet? I am waiting since the end of April but my phone is still running on Android 4.0.4. I have an unbranded model of the Netherlands with SI 1261-8979. I contacted the Customer Support many times since April but they were not able to help me either. Why does it take so long, did Sony skip some models of the Xperia P for the update?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Same problem here. I also own the Xperia P with SI-code 1261-8979 (bought in The Netherlands) which runs on ICS. Still no Jelly Bean update notifcation OTA, nor with PC Companion, nor with SUS. I've contacted Vodafone. They gave me the advice to ask Sony. So here I am. Sony, please finally give us the update to Jelly Bean!!

Regards,

Dutchman

@Dutchman that's up to Vodafone to release the update not Sony, as your phone is network branded/SIM locked

Hi Uliwooly, thanks for you reply! How can someone see if it's Vodafone branded or unbranded? I thought mine was unbranded as i do not see any Vodafone Apps/software in the main menu.

Because i am not familiar with flashing/rooting and don't want to risk damage my Xperia P, i prefer the original update.

It is unbranded, since i'm not with Vodafone. I'm from belgium and bought my phone at coolblue, an independent internet store, so it is certainly not branded.

I don't want to risk any damage to my phone either. Nevertheless, I will post here if I receive the update? Dutchman, will you post too if you see the notification earlier than I am, because I don't check for updates that much. I hope the rollout is over soon, I can't wait anymore.
