Good day,
For some time now, my Xperia S phone has been having multiple problems in regards to being slow or freezing. However, it recently started showing some additional problems which are too annoying to remain silent about.
A few things first:
I have been using an Xperia S phone for about 1 year and 7 months. My phone broke down once and was send to repairs, but I am not sure if they gave me a new phone or repaired my old one. In case it can be relevant: It was sent to repairs for an issue where it wouldn't turn "On" anymore.
Issue's I am currently experiencing:
As you might understand, these problems are quite serious for a phone user who has to make frequent calls, not to mention that it is extremely annoying as well to be unable to use some applications I installed on my phone.
Here's what I have tried so far:
Is there anybody who could help me with this issue? It is really getting on my nerves by now and I just want to be able to use my phone once again for what it was meant to be used.
Thanks in advance.
Yours Sincerely,
Bahumut5
Solved! Go to Solution.
Theres a few things you could try
The time, Have you checked if your auto date and time are ticked found in Settings - Date and Time also tick the box Auto time zone as this also could affect your time
Everything else - The only thing I could offer is a settings reset or a Factory data reset found in Settings - Backup and Reset
The settings reset will not delete any data however the Factory reset will delete apps etc but if you tick the box to erase internal storage then this will delete everything
The only other thing you could try is a repair using either PCC or SEUS found here http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/

Hello Thommo, and thank you for your quick response.
I failed to add some additional things regarding this issue, so I appologize for the lack of knowledge regarding this.
However, I have already tried the tools from the linked webpage when I saw your reply in a different topic with the same link. Unfortunately, this did not solve anything seeing as my phone charges from my laptop, but does not actually seem to recognize or work together with my laptop.
As for the resets: I have already tried the Data Reset option. Unfortunately, this did not solve my issue. I am also unable to do a Factory Reset. Every time I press the "Erase Everything" button, it simply does not do it. It doesn't give me an error, it does not seem to do anything at all, no matter how many times I try.
As I am speaking about this problem, I am still continueing to try new things which might eventually turn out to be the sollution. Until this happens though, I will be stuck with a phone which does not work, so I hope you might have any other advice for me as this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks once again in advance.
Yours Sincerely,
Bahumut5
If it charges then atleast 2 of the pins either on the charger or in the phone are fine - I know it's obvious but have you tried a different Pc and or usb port and also cable - If you have tried all the pre mentioned things then it is possible that you have a dammaged pin on your phone or what can happen is lint or fluff etc can cause a pin to not connect so i'd check and try to clean the usb port but please do not use a nylon brush use a hair brush as nylon when rubbed or brushed in this case can and does cause static and could cause a short circuit ie: blow a board fuse - If that still fails then it could be signs of a hardware malfunction
In order to rule out other things have you tried safemode on your Pc and tuern your phone off then hold volume up then connect the usb lead, Does your Pc recogize a new device?
Good day once again Thommo,
After trying multiple things, my phone suddenly started the Factory Reset. Although I am unsure why this randomly started (I was in a completely different screen when it started initiating the Factory reset), it did however solve my problem.
I am still unsure as to what exactly caused the problem, but I am currently content with being able to make phone calls once again.
I would like to thank you greatly for your time that you have put into helping me. This has been greatly appreciated.
Yours Sincerely,
Bahumut5
