Internet not working when screen is turned off!!!

i have this constant problem that when my screen is turned off, my internet does not work, meaning i do not recieve messages or my bbm does not update until i turn my screen on again. Could someone please let me know how to fix this. Thanks in advance.

This is stamina mode related from what I know.Did you enable it?

ive disabled it now, so it should be fine,thanks again for your help

Anytime,that is the point of stamina,to extend battery life by disabling some functions like mobile data.
