How to Root Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman (WT19i)

im using sony ericsson live with waalkman, some softwares and games ask for root my ROM. i have no idea what is that, i have tried to root my rom by installing softwares but it doesn't work. i used Easy Rooting Toolkit (V1.0), i also followd the instructions before rooting but nothing works.

You need to downgrade to 0.42 or 0.58.....

and then root, because you can't root 0.62

You can downgrade using this

Will it be ever possible to root live with walkman with the 4.0.2.A.0.62 kernel? And if I upgrade it to ICS (when it comes out this week) will it be possible to root then? My only problem is that I want to connect external drives (like disc on key, card readers...) and I searched and found out that this is possible only rooted - then there are applications that do the rest of the work. can you help me please, Nabeel?

Its possible to root 0.62, but you will have to unlock your bootloader

At present there is no method to root 4.0.4, its hardly released... there is a method to root 4.0.3 but not 4.0.4...

Ok, but have you got any idea how can I connect disc on key to live with walkman? I saw nokia n8 does this with no problem and I want to do that on my live with walkman too.

***I just checked that option on the Nokia 7230 AND IT WORKED!!! And this phone is not even a smartphone!!! This is REALLY unfair!!!***

***And by the way: In the Live with Walkman specs there is a 'USB-on-the-Go" option, but it doesn't work. (only keyboards and mouses work)***

USB -on - the go works only for keyboard and mouse

if you want to connect pen drives/ flash drives then you need to root your phone

Disc-on-key is the real name for 'flash-drive' (Because it's like a disc, but it's also a key holder...). OK, I got it, no root - no possibility to connect external storage devices. By the way thanks for all of your answers, I'll add you as a friend, if you don't mind...
