How to reset xperia u (hard factory reset) forgot the password. Please help

Now i cant access my phone because my phone locked and it has no option for reseting it via gmail account password. Moreover it is nott connected to 3g or wifi network. I have made a backup of it and wanted to hard factory reset.Please somebody tell me the procedure. Thanks.

why not repair it using Sony Update Service or PC Companion

1. Press Emergency call

2. dial *#*#7378423#*

3. Customization settings

4. Reset customization

i tried to repair my phone via companion but it first downloads some update but then does nothing after that....

that shoudnt be the case, anyways you can always use repair option from SUS.
