How to log out of my Email?

For the Email Icon, it says that I have 999 emails (I don't delete my emails for some reason) and I want to log out of my Gmail that's linked to that icon thing. Can someone please tell me how to log out of it? Thanks!

P.S: Where can I get a screen protector for my phone? I'm afraid it'll get really scratched.

settings -> accounts & settings -> tap on Google -> uncheck sync Gmail to stop getting more gmails or if you want to sign out you need to delete google from the settings above by tapping on Remove account

the phones come with preinstalled screen protectors, check on the edgets of the screen and you will be able to see it, take a picture and zoom in on the edge of the screen

There's Remove Account, but when I click it, it says "This account is required by some applications. You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults, (which deletes all your personal data)" I'm afraid if I reset my phone to factory defaults, I don't wanna lose anything. What do they mean by "personal" data?

you can't keep the apps and deleting the google account. since that google account is the one you used to download the apps. why do you want to delete the account?
