how to connect my Xperia S to my sony Laptop via Hdmi..?

I've just bought a Sony Xperia S handset. I've tried to connect it to my Sony TV via hdmi and It worked but when I'm trying the same with my sony laptop it isn't working?

that's because the HDMI on your PC and Xperia are both HDMI output ports, not input, it wont work

so whats the use of hdmi cable apart from viewing it on my t.v... so obviously there's no other way I could see its display on my laptop..darn it!

again, it has nothing to do with the brand, I haven't seen a computer that has a hdmi input, you can share with your laptop using DNLA and other apps

No..I'm not at all against sony..I'm a sony fanboy! Just wanted to know about the functionality of a hdmi cable..anways thanks..so about dlna..you mean using wifi?

yeah you can use wifi to share your pictures/videos and perhaps sony can enable wifi direct
