Hi,
I have files on my computer, backed up from Sony Xperia S, I do not have this phone anymore, but I need to get important contacts out of this .dbk file. How can I do this?
hey how to open jar file. is there a specific app to open jar file
Thanks a lot for your post! It helped me to restore my contact after I rolled back my phone system from 4.4 to 4.2. For some reason phone didn't wanted to recieve full backup made just some minutes ago.
So THANK YOU A LOT!!!
Dear Johannski,
How can I thank you, just as all my fellow troubleshooters with their contacts did.
What a nice day for our planet and Sony Xperia community on which you decided to share your findings here!
I had a Sony Ericsson W595 cell phone that all of a sudden couldn't be started up again. Moreover, Sont PC Companion told me that that the .dbk files it had created on the hard disk of my PC, weren't compatible with my Z1. What a disappointment for someone who had fidelity to the Sony brand all his life. But then ,you came in and showed me the way out! Thanks again.
All I can add is, that it got a lot easier to me to recover my contacts. Already upon unzipping the to .zip converted .dbk file, I got the .vcf file at once. All I had to do was to copy that file onto my Xperia.
Thanks a lot and enjoy your deserved pride!

I downloaded the .jar file given by you in the Link (Name is shown as "restoreData.jar") and doubleclicked on the same but "restore.jar" not opended as you mentioned and i confirmed that the name is given for backup data is as "fullbackupdata".
I am having Widnows 7. Please let me know, anything else to be done.
Thanks & Regards,
