I have purchased Xperia Tipi single SIM on 11th of November on Diwali festival. I have started using on same day and when I was calling to few of my friends then they complain about my voice and inform they are not able to hear me Cleary and they are gating their ECHO itself on their cell phone. Initially I thought that this might be issues due to network operators.Same issues was continue more than week then done two tests
.I tried by inserting other SIM cards to my phone and then celled to same numbers –Still ECHO was thereThen I want to service center –where I have given my cell phone for investigation and they inform they will take 10 days for detail investigation. During one hour of my waiting period there were three Tipo user arrived with same complain ,out of them one got replacement as he came just after 3 days after his purchase.As a phone voice quality and cell connection as basic characteristics of any basic cell phone. Now hoe come sany haven’t captured in their testing cycle. Its very bad for user that Sony failed to provide basic smooth call connection to user.If this issues is not solved then I will file case against SONY Mobile in consumer court.

Hi johan, now this is what we need! At least sony accepted that, it is defect..! Thanks Johan for your help in sending this issue to Developers!!
We are not here to fight for blah blah reasons, but we are seriously frustrated with the phone!! There are no issues with Tipo device but issue is
"TIPO is not the PHONE! It is Nice Music Player + Great GPS navigator + Stylish looks + Android 4 ICS + Nice battery backup + GOOD WIFI + SPEED + RAM + HARDWARE = Excellent Entertainmaint device" but it is lacking the most basic feature --> "PHONE".
Where is the phone ?
it is lost somewhere in Echo problem + headset mic issue!
I'm not sure whether you can do it for me or not, but I request you to do it...
There are two more serious problems with the device that also need to be investigated and fixed!.. [other users please check and confirm..]
1. While talking on call, user hears his own echo [I'm not talking about other party's voice]
Explaination -
Attach your sony headset [that came with the box] to the phone, and make a call. Now put the headset MIC at 5cm from your mouth and talk! you will hear your own voice very loudly!
This is cumbersome when, you are driving on bike wearing headset and someone calls you!
The phone should only send the voice from other party. But here, the mic captures "wind" and you will only hear noice in your headset! It looks like, Mic and headset speakers are interneally connected!
[Serious probelm with headphones which do not have mic... like Creative EP 630. Johan, before asking what type of headphone it is, try out google! it the branded best headphone from Creative! ]
2. If you are using normal headphone [eg. creative EP 630] for music loving people, and if you receive call, then you will receive your own echo [just like above]. So obviously you will try to disconnect the headphone from phone... but as soon as you disconnect the headphone from tipo, call will be dropped!
3. Again, if you are connected to normal headphone [just as above] and if you receive call, then sometimes you will not receive your own echo. [I thought, echo problem is solved by phone itself.] But in this case, other party on call will also not receive your voice!
Means if you are listening your echo, then other party is receiving your voice! else not!

I'm not telling that I'm great in technology but, by profession, I'm Software Developer + Tester.
These are genuine issues johan and you are the only road to reachout to the developers..!

I have had 3 phones from t mobile and they have all had the echo problem. Sony admitting there is a fault but not knowing when it will be fixed is simply not good enough. The tipo is not fit for purpose and should be replaced or refunded immediately. I use my phone for work and it is now costing me money as customers keep hanging up on me. Last sony phone i will ever buy.

Guys, here is the update from Sony Service center, i purchased this mobile on jan 3 2013 since a week i am facing the echo problem on my tipo, i e-mailed to customer support about the issue and they asked to visit service center.
I visited service center few days back, to my surprise, i came to know that its a design and a hardware issue and there are no software updates that will be released to fix the issue..and inside service center guy clearly made me understand that we have to live with the echo problem with tipo or fight with sony
to get a new replacement unit(other than tipo)
And more importantly sony already stopped manufacturing this model since january.I am preparing my docs to file a case against sony(luckily brother in-law is a lawyer, who is helping me out)
follow me to raise the voice and drag sony to compensate on their faulty mobiles
Mr.johan we know this already as no software update can fix this coz its hardware fault ...
so please accept its sony's fault of selling it before check
Me and my friend went to muy nokia 820 in univercell, when i question about tipo, he confirmed that its a hardware defect and even they stopped selling tipo in univercell and sony is least bothered to fix or replace the defective parts...
Anyways..my case on sony is on its way!

Read the story of the echo problem here, do you still bluff people that software update will fix the issue.
Are you trying to reduce the impact of sales, that the software update will fix it..?
Any approximate time frame for the software update ..either in feb or march..2014?
