Disable predictive text

Would someone please advise me how to totally disable all predictive text functionality in Xperia X8 ?? I've had this problem with every single mobile phone I've ever had and cannot possibly imagine why anyone would want something so mindlessly stupid. The #$@(%&# phone cannot have a clue what word I want as is clearly demonstrated by the fact that it ALWAYS gets it wrong !!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Dear Gents,

I am fighting with annoying issue described bellow at my Xperia Arc.

If I am typing any SMS message there is predictive feature influencing my message!

I went to settings>languague&input and unchecked spelling correction, I am always forced to predictive and infulence it my typing!

Gents it is really, really annoying!

Any advice would be welcomed!
