CPU core 1 Stopped

Acording to CPU-Z app, Core 1 of my Xperia SP has stopped and the 0 core is runing at 1728GHz. Is this normal or is there something wrong.

This is not ok,both CPU's should work at a frequence close to 1.7.Restart the phone, see how the processors react.

Hi and thank you for the fast reply. Just restarted and core 1 is still listed as 'stopped'. Its a brand new phone, less than a week old, do I need to return for a refund/replacement.

Wait, you have SP or S?You posted in the S section. The new tech Krait processor might be able to reduce one core frequency to save battery, but I think 0 is too much.Take the phone back and ask them about this issue.

Update: Just noticed core 1 does very breifly activate for a split second when I slide open the CPU-Z screen, then shuts down. Is this a battery save feature?

Ok,moved it to the right section. Can you open an app(a game) which would force the CPU a little? To see if both CPU's work.

Downloading Angry Birds to test which seems to have activated core 1 as it is now kicking in an out. So it looks like it could be a battery saver.
