Coating of the back peeling off

Hi,

i got my new Xperia T LT30P for now about 6 weeks (i think) and i recognized that the matte coating of the phones back is peeling off at the edges. It didnt get any scratches and it didn't fall a single time. I made some pictures of the spots:

Xperia T 2.jpg

Is the coating of the Xperia T smartphones just of bad quality? It shouldn't be normal that it looks like that after just a couple of weeks!

Greetings

David

Well, I can't vouch for all those Sony products. I have a Sony TV and DVD player which have always been sweet. Maybe with Sony the problem is software (and with a top-end smartphone it's going to have complicated software). Personally apart from the coating my Xperia T was pretty sweet. The camera was fine (detailed and colourful) and the battery stamina was acceptable. No hangs or crashes either. I know there is a thread for the camera issue where a user called Daloch(?) rants at length about the camera being cr*p but it was fine for me.

Of course, Sony makes (or made) good products, stereo, cameras, dvd players, tv etc. They have problems with the smartphones, they just can't keep up with the competition for so long time, with strange ideas like playstation phone and other models, with fabrication flaws (see the tablet, XT), updates and software bugs, bad camera for Xperias. Many customers are happy with their camera (many don't even use it), each of them has different levels of exigency. But to spend 600-700 USD for a phone which peels off, or to get water inside, or to have bad camera (noise and color tints) I don't think that's good for a brand like Sony, that's all. It all depends what you use the phone for. I was expecting much quality from their camera and smartphones. Maybe I was wrong. I can tell you that here in Romania, most of the offerts from the mobile companies are including Samsung, HTC, Motorola, Nokia, iPhone. Sony is a rare bird.

The problem has been identified and a fix is in place. I suggest that you contact your local support team to have your phone fixed at an repair center. This will be covered within your warranty as long as you are within your warranty period and if no mechanical abuse is present.

Hello Sony, i have the same problem (after less than 4 weeks).

It would be good if anybody from Sony would post something here as soon as the problem is solved in general.

Meaning i don't want to sent in my phone, getting a new back cover which will peel off soon again.

I do not have a problem waiting a few weeks more but just don't want to sent the phone to repair every month. I would be bad for me and for Sony...

It's only a small batch which has this problem. If you have this problem and send your phone for repair your back cover will be replaced with a new one which do not have this issue.
