Cant delete photos from download album

When the phone is connected to the computer I have deleted photos from all my albums but the ones in the download album still remain. I have tried to delete album complete but it still exists. If I select or view the individual photos in the album I dont get the delete option? Any thoughts on how to delete these photos?

Are you using JB?Tap longer on them,they should highlight and you should get a recycle bin.

also settings > apps > all > album > clear data, sometimes it doesn't quite delete the thumbnail even if the file its long gone

thanks for your comments however I realise it's actually the thumbnails that I can't delete from download album, any ideas?

Try this:settings-apps-all-media storage,force stop and clear data.Restart.
