When I connect my phone with my pc via pc software "PC Companion", it did not recognise my device, driver MTP didnt install in pc. Please help me how can i connect with pc companion.
Solved! Go to Solution.
The phone uses Windows standard MTP drivers. So try to install or reinstall Windows Media Player (WMP contains these drivers).

Reboot your PC and try to connect again.
I bought phone and downloaded pc companion just today. When I connect phone with pc, there comes a pop up message in phone to install "pc companion" on pc. When tap this message, on pc there started an installation of mtp driver and after some time it shows an error "failed to install".

Every time I connect phone with (as I told before) popup msg in phone to install pc companion on desktop PC, but when I tap to install a driver "MTP usb device" begin to install but failed. And pc companion didnt get installed. why phone asking to install it on my pc as I already have it installed? And I've few questions more;

This thread did not help me at all.
I am running Xperia Companion 1.7.2.0 on a Windows 7 Home Premium notebook, with Media Player 12.
Xperia Ray ST18i, and Xperia Acro S LT26w - none is able to connect to Xperia Companion.
It has been working with previous versions of PC Companion, but is now defunct again, not the first time.
Will never purchase a Sony phone again, ever.
Quite simple, the Xperia Ray was released in June 2011, more than 6 years ago, it has reached its EOL long ago, and it is no longer supported by Xperia Companion, PCC its long gone too.
I understand your frustration but to say that

that's a bit exaggerated don't you think?
Also the suggestions posted here are from 3 years ago
I received a private message from Sony outside forum, confirming uliwooly's suggestion, that the Ray has reached its EOL.
They do call it EOS, though. (They really can't call it EOL when the thing is aLive and kicking, can't they?). But that is the reason why my Ray wont connect to the Xperia Companion software.
I got no answer to the Acro S, but my guess is, it is in the same situation.
