Can turn on/off, receive calls but screen frozen

Hi, my Xperia just froze with cursor in the middle of screen and text "emergency call" on the bottom of the screen. The screen does not response at any touching, but I can turn off/on, enter pin code and the phone starts at the same screen again, I can receive phone calls, the WIFI works in trhe background, receiving mails and so on. Even after pulling off the batery, the phone would start, let me enter pin code and come to the same screen as before bur nothing mre. What is wrong? Can I do anything about it?

Any help would be highly appreciated!

The phone freezes or applications suddenly shut down

Downloaded applications can cause the phone to behave unexpectedly or affect the phone performance. Use safe mode to check if any downloaded application causes the problem. In safe mode, the phone only starts with preinstalled software and applications. If the phone performance improves in safe mode, it’s likely that one or more of the downloaded applications are affecting the phone negatively. You can then uninstall the most recently downloaded application and restart the phone.

To enable safe mode

1. Turn off the phone.
2. Press and hold down the power key until the phone vibrates.
3. Wait until the Xperia™ logotype disappears.
4. Press and hold the volume down key until the phone vibrates. The phone then restarts in safe mode.

Note: To exit safe mode, restart the phone.

I have done exactly as your have written, but the phone comes to the same screen as before with a text on the bottom "Safe mode", but I can't still do nothing. No response for touching. If a call is coming, I can swipe and answer, but that's all unfortunately

Unfortunately I cant connect the phone to the computer either as the screen is "locked". Just get the message that the screen must be "unlocked" in order for PC companion to connect. Actually the screen is "LOCKED" and the only thing I can do is to answer incoming calls or insert the Emegency No. I am desperate! Time to send the phone to service?
