Hi,
I have Xperia X10 mini pro, Android 2.1. It happened that all widgets are removed from my home screen (it seems after installation of one app from Google Play).
Now, as far as I know the only way to add new widget is to hold finger on widget on home screen. But as I have no widgets, I have no way to add new one. I have tried to restore from backup and reset system settings, but nothing happened.
Is it possible to solve this in some way except factory reset?

I've found solution.
Among apps I've found Home screen and clicked Clear Data. And now I have default widgets
Hi, long press on home screen empty spot, tap Widgets and select the widget you want to add.
When I do that, I have just dialog to select wallpaper, that is my problem.
You could try repair phone software with PC Companion or Update Service.

Be aware that this process will erase phone data completely, backup if necessary.
OK, I'll wait some more and try to do that, that was last option.
However, just to note that my software is not corrupted, but its configuration. I have never had that add widget option on holding finger, so I don't think that it is part of the factory setup. However, factory setup has one widget on home screen, so it will solve the problem the other way...
So I am still curious if there is some configuration to be set to solve this problem...
Not sure why that option is not available when you long press home screen. There is another way to add widget .... go to app drawer, long press any app icon, it should bring you to home screen to add the widget.
This is Xperia x10 mini pro, it has 320x240 resolution and custom launcher. And no, you can't add widget from app drawer. You can't add anything from app drawer. This phone doesn't work that way. I guess that you haven't used this particular phone and that you can't help me...
Try uninstall and reinstall custom launcher.
