Can I Send photos from my Experia J, using text messaging, please?

I've tried twice to send a photo attached to a text message, but failed both times.

I composed a text message, then attached a photo from my Album, but after selecting Send get the message that the image is queued for sending, but nothing seems to happen. 

Can I actually send photos from my Experia J using text messaging, please?

Yes you can BUT your data has to be on, as it will be an MMS not a SMS, if you don't have your data on or a data plan it won't work, not even if you have wifi access.
