Battery going from 25% to 1%.

Hi,

I have not being having a battery problem with my Arc since i bought it in Sep 2011. I keep it updated & everything. I updated it recently to the 4.xxx.62 update. Today, i was playing PINBALL Deluxe as usual when my battery level was close to 25%. Just two mins. in the game, I got the Low battery level popup showing the current level as 1% and the phone got turned off.

I was freaked out a litlle, but I whipped out the charger & started charging again. When the fone started, it showed the Battery level up to 26%

I unplugged the charger, & kept the phone as it is on standby (Brightness - 25%, Data - off, No apps running)

But again in 5 mins, the popup appeared indicating my battery level to 1%.

I am not sure why or how this is happening. The phone is still in warranty & the battery definitely hasn't gone bad. Please help me.

it happened with my arc 4-5 days back , i also reported this issue..

i faced the same exact issue...

and nabeelraza's advice is the solution

first fully charge your phone to a 100% , then take out the battery , let it out for 5 minutes , insert it..

and you will see battery level at 85% , thats for sure , charge it again to 100% and it will not happen again Slightly_smiling_Face

okh do this
take out the battery of your mobile when it goes completely down, means when it switches off itself and keep it out for about 1 minute
reinsert it , without switching on your mobile plug in the charger and charge it for about 5 hours untouched and then remove the charger and switch on your mobile, it might not show full 100%, so chage it to full and u will hopefully never face this problem again

remember to share the results here

Ohkk, will do that & keep it posted. Is this a known issue with the update?

if the above doesn't solve your problem then u might need to repair your software

Update/Repair your phone via PCC OR SUS

PCC (PC COMPANION) – Repair your software with this .First do the setup without connecting your mobile to pc.(only connect when you are asked to). Do it as follow >> PCC > SUPPORT ZONE> SOFTWARE UPDATE> REPAIR SOFTWARE (written with blue)

Pc companion link http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/pc-companion/

SUS ( Sony Update Service)  ... download it and install it on your pc and follow the on-screen instructions http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/Software%20Downloads/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.12.5.exe

                                  or

Slim,

I tried your way. I took out the battery for 5 mins & upon restarting the level was 78% Slightly_frowning_Face

Charging it up again to 100%. Do i need to keep it charging for 5-6 hours like Nabeel suggested or just till it reached 100%

first you have to charge it to a 100% then take out the battery , and as nabeelraza mentioned , no need to charge it 5-6 hours , just upto 100%
