I am facing this annoying problem in my 15 days old Xperia S. The screen keep flickering and it is even worse than flickering, it just keep blinking when I open Album/Gallery and could not even give me chance to look at the photos. The same problem occurs when i open camera to take pictures and this camera due to this blinking screen issue made me feel embaraassing in front of my friends as this problem doesnot allow camera even to focus as it keep blinking every second. It makes me mad. The only solution which i follow right now is just to restart the phone and i have to do it on daily basis which is very painful as i do not want to do these frequent restart just to avoid any problem. So if anyone can help me with a solution.
FYI i have tried till now:
1. Software Upgrade
2. Software Repair
3. Phone restart on daily basis.

Same case with me, bought the Phone from Sweden and I am living in Hongkong. So had a discussion with Sony Customer care rep over live chat. He told me that i can leave phone on Sony Centre but i have to pay in case any service or repair occurs. As warranty is valid only in coutry it was bought as per him.
Thanks
I m having the same problem with my phone.... i just purchased it 2 days back....
not happy ;-(
SONY PLEASE FIX THIS SOFTWARE BUG
HI,
Well i got it checked from Sony Service Centre in Guangzhou, China and response i got was, "It is not a hardware problem but a software issue as we are having some more customer facing same problems, Keep checking for software update as that might help."
I got one more software repair done, but problem is same. Now what to do with this
Thanks
Downgrade manually back to Gingerbread and wait for Sony to get there software issues fixed
As you bought your phone in Sweeden then I'm guessing you'd want the Sweedish GB firmware
LT26i_6.0.A.3.75_1257-6919.ftf I'm sure is the Sweedish Firmware you'll want - It's not branded

If you'd like to know how to do it then follow these steps - At step 8 if you do wish to downgrade then you will need to wipe data and cache

Hey, I drained the battery and I only get one "blink" in the Gallery on portrait mode (landscape, it doesn't stop).
I started using QuickPic so I guess I'll be fine until the next update (hopefully a Nexus-like one)
Sony, WTF! I need Jelly Bean to fix the bug !
I am facing the same problem, more worst i believe all of you will soon face the same or didnt notice as of now. the problem is whenever i want to make a call or text someone or anything which needs keypad... it flicks and went down... again and again. till the time i close the application and open again.
i am really disappointed, its really a slap to me after so much of search and study i bought this xperia s.
i really recommend people now go for Samsung SII atleast you know what you are getting and now i know the reason of Samsung super dupper sale as well.
Shit why did i try to do experiment with my money
@varunkhera,
I understand your frustration, I too am having issues following ICS upgrade inc NFC, restarts and screen ripping, but I've also had poor reports from SII users too!! Better the devil you know?
Whooaaaaaa..... It resolved now.. .. What a moment of relief..
Just uninstalled my McAfee Antivirus, and wallah everything was fine. Now no flickering no blinking. Now i can say that it is the best phone ever.. As the fault is of McAfee Mobile security App.
However it costed me US$ 40 to buy one year protection, But anyways i removed that in my 1st month of subscription. As i wanted my phone working smooth and fast.
Now that I think about it, the problem started when I actived the app. It came free on my phone. Are you sure that it's the app? How long has been since you fixed the phone
Btw, congrats on the solution. And I think that Sony should have a talk with McAfee.
you want to see if it get your problem fix, try it and gave the feedback. Once we have more positive answers, others can follow suit.
Thanks. and BTW, lets go to McAfee website and tell them about it.
