I am facing this annoying problem in my 15 days old Xperia S. The screen keep flickering and it is even worse than flickering, it just keep blinking when I open Album/Gallery and could not even give me chance to look at the photos. The same problem occurs when i open camera to take pictures and this camera due to this blinking screen issue made me feel embaraassing in front of my friends as this problem doesnot allow camera even to focus as it keep blinking every second. It makes me mad. The only solution which i follow right now is just to restart the phone and i have to do it on daily basis which is very painful as i do not want to do these frequent restart just to avoid any problem. So if anyone can help me with a solution.
FYI i have tried till now:
1. Software Upgrade
2. Software Repair
3. Phone restart on daily basis.

Uninstall McAfee.
Thanks to "rvchahal" for persistently trying to find a solution for everyone.
Guys,
I have unistalled McAfee and then tested for 2 days and then I posted success on the topic. Yes it is true that after Activating McAfee this problem actually started. As I converted free trial to 1 year subscription within 3 days and after that problem started.
Now after uninstalling McAfee 4 days continuously, not a single blink is visible. So I strongly recommend everyone if you are facing any problem like this, Try uninstalling McAfee.
It resolved following:
1. No Screen flickering/Blinking
2. Now Camera is Much responsive
3. Increaed RAM, I have got 60-70 MB extra
I love my Xperia Now. One point of concern is that i suffered a loss of $40 approx.paid for McAfee subscription. Guys can you help me by writing the same to SONY that they should have a talk with McAfee so that atleast they can update their app, or refund the money for all of us who subscribed that.
Guys please your cooperation required.
Thanks
Done. It fixed it  (Timescape was starting to blink, and that was annoying)
Thanks rvchahal! Everything looks amazing now!!
Sony should REALLY contact McAfee.
I have also uninstalled, Feeling like my phone is started flying. So light i am feeling really awesome.
No symptoms as of now.
And i would like to request all of you to answer this question...
All of us had paid that mcaffee one year subscription then only we started getting all this problems or others who havent paid yet is also getting???
Because i bought two phones both xperia S, one i paid and another i didnt paid.
so the paid one is only which is creating problem for me. not the other one.
so i would like to say tell everyone to not to pay and waste money.
Waiting for all of your replies ......
Cool man, congrats and best of luck for Xperia experience. However now with 3-4 McAfee uninstalls we all know now who is culprit and that's McAfee.
Sony Guys, if you are observing these threads carefully we request you to speak up to McAfee and ask them for our money back. As we are not direct customers of McAfee, we bought it when it was found preinstalled in our phones.
Atleast let them know what problem their app is creating. We have already suffered and atleast we do not want to see any new customer suffering with these kind of issues in Sony community. Atleast we do care for new people thinking to join Sony family.
Man, we found the solution. Hope it helps you as well.
I dont have this app McAfee on my phone and it still flickering, i have ics 4.0.4, where did you find McAfee guys?
The app comes pre installed on the phone. McAfee Security. If you activate the app, then the Gallery, Camera, Walkman visualizer will flick (or blink). Something similar happens with the Xperia P and an app called Big Font.
You should uninstall the app and the phone will work fine.
Try to search out for any application, which might be restricting LCD to work properly.
I think i should share this with everyone, As many times you guys will update your phone with new versions which are updates of Android, for example right now the latest build number is 6.1.A.2.45,
after updating you may face problems of sim card reject and no network coverage area, or you may try to active data but it wont work. Then you may try to restart your phone and all. but the only thing will work is to change your sim card. As you might be using the old sim card. So get the latest 3G sim card. Will work perfect.
I am facing this problem in one phone of Xperia S ... where as other Xperia S i have changed the Sim card and working perfectly fine now.
Hope it helps others too
