Dear Gents,
I am experiencing annoying problem bellow.
Once I want to install anything from play app store I am getting error message that not enough space is in internal memory?
My question would be than why this annoying Xperia's android is not giving option to choose either internal memory or external SD card???
Another issue is if I want to transfer my personal data from Xperia M2 into newer ARC S it is just hanging and no progress there!
I did reboot of either PC or Xperia arc s several times!!!
Any advice would be welcomed!

Hi @andyxxl,
I would like to confirm which device you have that you trying to create a backup using Xperia Companion.
Is it an Xperia C or an Xperia Z1?
Make sure that you are using the correct software when creating the backup.
The software that you should use is named Xperia Companion and is available for both Windows and Mac.
If you want to backup your contacts to your Google account in the phone, start with opening up the Contacts application > 3 dots > Export/backup > choose the storage you would like to use and wait for the export to be completed.
When it has completed, tap the 3 dots again and choose "Import" > tap on the storage that you exported the contacts to > tap on your Google account. The contacts will now be imported to your Google account and when it's done you can see all of them on the link below, using a web browser.
contacts.google.com
Let us know how it goes!
Sir It is Xperia C1.
I can not connect that experia by PC companion software even USB cable or USB port on PC works!
I do want to know how to make local backup or export contact to gmail account at least?
Would you be so kind and send me printscreens how it works at your Xperia hanset?
Any advice would be welcomed!

Hi again!
I'm afraid that we don't have a device called Xperia C1, we have devices that are called Xperia C, Xperia C3, Xperia C4 and Xperia C5 Ultra.
Could you please check which device you have? You can find which phone model you have in Settings > About phone.
There is a create guide here at the forums on how to backup using Xperia Companion with pictures and clear instructions, have a look at the one and see if that answers your questions!
How-to-backup-and-restore-your-files-using-Xperia-Companion
I would gladly post screenshots of how can do it in your phone, just to make sure that everything looks the same as in your phone I'd like to know which phone model you are using!
Keep me posted!
Dear Sir,
so from settings/about menu is model LTI8i.
As I have remebered if I connect to Xperia companion ulility, no phone connected!
It is really, really weird!
Is not there some 3rd party utility which can help?
Regards
Andrej from Slovakia
Thanks for the update!
LT18i is an Xperia Arc S and that phone model is not supported by Xperia Companion, since the phone has reached its end of support.
Xperia Arc S have no preinstalled application to make a backup from, but you can easily transfer your contacts to your SD card.
Start with opening up the Contacts application > press the button in the bottom right in your phone with 4 lines just above it > Back up contacts, and check the screenshots below.
Now all your contacts are stored on the SD card and you can move the SD card to another phone and import them, photos and such are already saved directly to your SD card in your phone.
I'm not familiar with a third party application that you can use in your phone to create a backup but you can have a look in the Google Play store.
I hope that answers your questions and good luck with the transfer!
Thanks Sir for all your advices!
Finally I have managed backup at Sony athorized repair centre.
They did firmware flash including backup and they send me all contacts aka vcf files to my gmail.
Also restored SMS messages.
But I am really, really desperated with external SD card storage.
It is really, really impossible and annoying to install any app at external SD card.
But some of them are on external SD card indeed!!!
I was adviced to root Xperia Arc crap but Kingo root app fails at the end!
Does anybody have idea how to make root experia the simplest way like one app or whatsoever?
Any advice would be welcomed!
