First, I have succeeded in solving my problem by deleting "Media Storage's" data/cache. But this is a drastic step. It would delete all wifi pairings ever done with any other gadget (bluetooth pairings remain). Plus mobile will have to be rebooted to function normally. And even after rebooting, it would take several minutes before behaving normally. But after this step, my album app did behave as i wanted.

NOW LISTEN TO CAREFUL PART. AFTER SUCCESSIVELY SOLVING MY PROBLEM, I WAS EXPERIMENTING WITH OTHER THINGS. THROUGH MY PC BROWSER, I WAS BROWSING MOBILE'S FILE SYSTEM. AND DELIBERATELY (WAS JUST EXPERIMENTING) DELETED A FOLDER NAMED 'STORAGE' (OR ITS SUB FOLDERS NAMED EMULATED/LEGACY). AND YOU WON'T BELIEVE PERHAPS WHAT DID IT DO WITHIN SECONDS. IT DELETED/JUST ERASED WHOLE OF MY 16gb internal and 32 GB (EXTERNAL) MEMORY CHIPs. JUST ERASED THEM FOR GOOD! GOD! I NEVER THOUGHT ANDROID COULD BE THIS BLUNDEROUS! WINDOWS WOULD NEVER HAVE DONE SUCH A THING.

BEFORE TAKING SUCH A DRASTIC STEP, WINDOWS WOULD HAVE WARNED THE USER TENS OF TIMES. I'VE CHECK IN DIFF WAYS AND AM SURE THAT ALL CONTENTS HAVE GONE FOR GOOD.!

you deleted the storage folder and wonder why all your data lost? Grinning_Face [btw you cant put a sd car into xperia p]
sorry man, but if you are experimenting things you dont know you cant blame MS or Sony for the data loss..
Android file system is linux based, nothing to do with the windows anyway.

Next time you do such a thing pick a phone what no one use, or make backups all your data.

Perhaps I didn't make myself fully clear.
I had deleted only one folder inside my internal memory chip (internal 16GB SD Card of my new xperia) named Storage Media (or Media Storage). This folder only contained two folders named 'legacy' and 'emulated'. Now since these folders are located inside 16gb sd card, I didn't check further inside (May be perhaps they contained some shortcuts etc).

Now, logically they can't delete all other folders lying parallel to them or in their hierarchy. But what they did!!! They not only deleted all folders lying parallel to them but also hierarchy. Not only hierarchy, but also external memory.

Now CAN ANYBODY EXPLAIN HOW IN PC WORLD ONE MEMORY CHIP CAN DELETE ANOTHER MEMORY CHIP???

Have you cleared the data of "Media Storage" app in the Settings> App?

This will need a reboot and will delete all your wifi pairings and many other settings. Don't get worried earlier. For a few minutes your device may behave erratically.
