Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to change the settings on my Sony Xperia L1 so that I can unlock my phone with just the fingerprint scanner? I don't want the option of putting my pin or a pattern in.

Hi @Steve45, welcome to our forum!

Your post was moved to the Xperia L1 board from the Xperia XZ1 board, but the Xperia L1 does not have a fingerprint scanner, so if you can double check which device you have so I can move the post accordingly hat would be great.

You can find the model number in Settings > (System) > About phone.

There is no way to use only the fingerprint to unlock your device in every situation due to the fact that in some cases the normal screen lock needs to be used.

You have to use your backup screen unlock option (PIN, password or pattern) in these situations:

• The first time that you unlock your device after you have enabled fingerprint.
• When your fingerprint isn't recognized after 5 tries.
• After restarting your device.
• When more than 72 hours have passed since you last unlocked your device using your backup screen unlock option.
