I recently bought a Sony Xperia L1 G3311 running Android 7.0 Nougat. The WiFi HotSpot doesn't play nice with my MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) running Mac OS Sierra. Now I have tested the MacBook with a Samsung Android device and it is able to detect the HotSpot just fine. I have also tested the Sony Xperia L1 with both HP and Lenovo laptops both running Windows 10 and they both detect the HotSpot.
