Device memory full in xperia L

Hi.

I have a problem with my xperia L. Device memory gets full with normal usage after a couple of weeks. After it gets full, the phone is almost impossible to use; album doesn't work, new updates will not install, phone resets itself, cannot install new programs.. ETC. The only way out is, in my opinion, to make a "factory reset". But this is not how it should go with a mobile phone..

I am completely sure that this is somekind of a software bug, because my work mate is having exactly same symptoms with his phone and some other users have complained this in this forum with other words. For example:

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/140571

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/144006

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/141173

Somebody explained that this is because the album app is somehow broken, other explanation would be that the phone doesn't know how to refresh the temp files...

Now I have some questions for Sony:

1. Do you recognize this problem?

2. How are you going to tackle it and what is the schedule?

3. Also, when tackling this problem, will you repair the camera software too?

Then, I would like to know if there are other users having the same problem.. By the way, the system version is 15.0.A.1.31

Ramesona:

if I were you, I wouldn´t buy this phone now. You'd be buying a problem.

I would advice against getting any phone manufactured by Sony. As you can see, you get no support if the phone doesn't work. You'll just buy yourself and expensive, but useless brick.

IPE400: Did u get ur phone back from service centre?

Yes and no. I got it back after two weeks and after 5 days I took it back. Now the situation is that the store kept the phone for 2 weeks and service is going to take approximately 3 weeks more... Store manager promised to demand Sony for a repair before sending to device back to service, but I highly doubt he did so. But never the less they tried to get my money back from Sony, which is good. Too bad Sony didn't want to give up.

If every service is going to take 2-4 weeks and Sony is going to do the service 4-5 times (estimated by warehouse manager), I probably get a new device sometime in december. Just to repeat the problem 😕

I went to the nearby Sony service centre.

They first told me that Various apps may have virus due to which this was happening, ( LAME ) & they informed me that i might have to factory reset it. So i took a back-up & did a factory reset. After restoring the back-up & installing a couple of apps, guess what ?? I am back to square one. The dumb problem is showing up again.

C'mon, guys..The First post has been over a month ago..& still there's not a single useful reply/solution from the

sony staff..

To Uliwooly, Rickard, sam;

Please look into this matter asap. Factory Resetting the phone once a week is not the solution. Slightly_frowning_Face

Device Memory

Did you disable the walkman app to or you have the walkman app working ?

I want to try what you did because for me only works making the

1- factory reset

2 - fix it with pc companion and update firmware to 15.0.A.1.31

3 - Disable the walkman app

Auto Rebooting problem

My solution for this one was was installing "advanced task manager app" and it is killing apps every minut.

I all can say that it seems to be 98% better Grinning_Face

Sometimes it freezes and the only solution is removing battery

Again, I was to make another system reset. I'm SO TIRED of waiting a f****g solution from Sony Xperia Care.

Nobody knows in entire Sony Xperia development HOW TO SOLVE THIS SHAMEFUL PROBLEM?

This was my second Sony smartphone. After this, I'm very sure that my next smartphone will not be a Sony. I can't believe that ALL the Xperia L users are defenseless, and nobody moves nothing for us. It's a SHAME.

PD (for Mochi): What is the entire route for the Lost.DIR folder? Is in Device or in SDCard?

Guys,

correct me if i'm wrong. as far as i know, file(s) inside Lost.Dir only will only appear for file that might importat but got deleted then will appear when you restart the phone, (pc also got this file)

it happend to me when i try many times deleteing this Thumbnail file that now already reach 1,5gb each time i delete and restart with no gallery at all, sometimes the thumbnail appear inside DCIM or recover again in Lost.Dir.

anyway, this lost.dir appear in internal and SD card, haven't check if it would appear in other place

Same sh*t here. Dissapointed with the lack of response. We have five Xperia L in our office and all 5 have the memory problem and 1 also restes by itself when it wants. One of my collegues has an SP and everything is fine. Shame on you Sony!
