Hi.
I have a problem with my xperia L. Device memory gets full with normal usage after a couple of weeks. After it gets full, the phone is almost impossible to use; album doesn't work, new updates will not install, phone resets itself, cannot install new programs.. ETC. The only way out is, in my opinion, to make a "factory reset". But this is not how it should go with a mobile phone..
I am completely sure that this is somekind of a software bug, because my work mate is having exactly same symptoms with his phone and some other users have complained this in this forum with other words. For example:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/140571
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/144006
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/141173
Somebody explained that this is because the album app is somehow broken, other explanation would be that the phone doesn't know how to refresh the temp files...
Now I have some questions for Sony:
1. Do you recognize this problem?
2. How are you going to tackle it and what is the schedule?
3. Also, when tackling this problem, will you repair the camera software too?
Then, I would like to know if there are other users having the same problem.. By the way, the system version is 15.0.A.1.31
Agreed,
i believe sony team are reading this thread. please respond with date of update to fix this matter.
we dont want "soon" respond, we want date!
I have the same problem with my wifes Xperia L and I have used every trick that I know of to fix it before I found this thread.
One thing that is extremely annoying is the lack of action and information from Sony. At least they should provide some information in this thread or even better on the support pages for Xperia L.
But I guess that the greed is stopping them. Officially admitting that the Xperia L becomes a brick every two weeks will not exactly boost sales. On the other hand - bad reputation is the least Sony needs right now.
Sony support wants me to send the phone to their service center, which of course is completely useless. The guy at Xperia care (Robin) that I spoke to even admitted that there was no fix to this memory problem. Still I need to send the phone in before we can move further and refund my, so far, wasted money.
FrankVincent, for me the 15.0.A.2.17 version didn't fix the problem. I'm going to call the store not later than monday and find out what they have archieved with Sony. Probably nothing though.
HEB200, I'm very appaled that Sony can blame 3rd party programs for their lack of coding. And they really should point out the program..., they took our money and now they are just showing middle finger to us.
Surprise surprise....I had to 'system reset' again yesterday due to lack of storage!.
None of the software updates and suggestions in this post seem to stop the inevitabe reset needed every few days.
COME ON SONY!!!!
i took my L to xperia center to repair, but the problem still here.
I can tell you, this is because too much data save in a file called "core" which is under /data
HTC one X (maybe all android phone) got this problem too, but HTC seems fixed this problem already.
SONY! FACE THE PROBLEM! YOU SHOULD NOT ESCAPE! FIX PLEASE!
Dear Sirs/Madam,
You are kindly requested to fix internal memory problem ASAP. I've bought this phone 2 month ago and now I have a wishing to broke your crappy phone because of problem with memory. There are no missing calls, no recieved SMS, NO memory. I wonder SONY doesn't appreciate the Clents, our own money and time which we are spending.
this is my first phone in my life =( but it is xxxx.
I have done some survey on where globally this problem happens. The countries are at least: Great Britain, Sweden, Spain, Hongkong, Finland and netherlands. My retailer told me that they think this is a single case problem, not happening in all the phones at all... No I think this is a system bug and I think that I just didn't get the poor one... Or as in my language we say "monday version..." I guess it is no use to try to get a new one from the retailer...
Now I recommend everyone reading this thread and having the same problem, to post a small message:" I also have this problem and I bought this phone from Finland in 6/2013"... By that action, we can know if this problem is global and if the problem has some timeline... And maybe then SONY will take action and also the retailers will understand not to sell the phone anymore. Now the situation with my retailer is, that even if there are at least three complaints about this issue, they still sell the phone with attitude !?!?! I think that retailer should push Sony a little more. At the moment, if Sony doesn't admit there is a problem, retailer will sell phones even if it is getting complaints. I raised a question with retailer and also I would like to ask from Sony and you fellows, that
What a customer can do now when the phone is REALLY broken, retailer trust Sony and will do nothing and Sony doesn't admit there is a problem? -> I hope that the answer is not to forget Sony and retailer, throw the phone to a lake and buy a samsung from other store... Because that will happen very soon.
