Hi.
I have a problem with my xperia L. Device memory gets full with normal usage after a couple of weeks. After it gets full, the phone is almost impossible to use; album doesn't work, new updates will not install, phone resets itself, cannot install new programs.. ETC. The only way out is, in my opinion, to make a "factory reset". But this is not how it should go with a mobile phone..
I am completely sure that this is somekind of a software bug, because my work mate is having exactly same symptoms with his phone and some other users have complained this in this forum with other words. For example:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/140571
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/144006
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/141173
Somebody explained that this is because the album app is somehow broken, other explanation would be that the phone doesn't know how to refresh the temp files...
Now I have some questions for Sony:
1. Do you recognize this problem?
2. How are you going to tackle it and what is the schedule?
3. Also, when tackling this problem, will you repair the camera software too?
Then, I would like to know if there are other users having the same problem.. By the way, the system version is 15.0.A.1.31
I wonder if this problem is resticted to specific firmwares only.
Does anybody from middle east has this issue ?????
Guys, please 'me too' this problem in the first post so that sony staff will take this problem as general problem !!
Sony, please explain me the arithmetic: 352MB + 489MB= 1.57 GB??
Right now, my phone, which has been repaired thrice by official Sony service, is showing only 489MB available device memory. I have installed only 352MB apps. This issue has cost me around 70 days till today.
Shameless Sony guys have not given me any replacement till today despite the persisting issue. These are not even giving proper solution. And the remaining memory will exhaust soon.
Who the is eating up the memory????
'make.believe' Sony, thats the logo of your brand right? Then act like you do give a to your customers.
hi guys,
another week for me without any storage issue in my Xperia L and running normal until today,
also another solution that i tried to my friend Xperia L, little bit different but same result,
what i do is,
1. ensure the internal memory full,
2. download a file (in my case, i try to download mp3, around 5,2mb from zippyshare)
3. you'll see that the download arrow in notification are try to download but unsuccessful, but it will try again and again by it self until the system said, "unfortunately media.storage has stopped" or something like that (more likely takes 10 min + in my friend phones)
4. the the internal mem should recover,
5. do my previous step in page 17
6. mem now free to use
surely i'm not lying, i attached my internal screenshot, 1st screen taken on 4 oct, 2nd are today 7 oct... and no issue of extra memory when i plug and unplug my device to PC... running smoothly until today
Hey Feri-Reza, Have you inserted SD card in your phone and how many apps have you installed in your device i.e. third party also are you using apps like clean master, app acche cleaner, advanced task manager....cos after installing third party apps memory leakage issue starts in my device.Hence, wanted to know....
also, should i wait till the memory gets full or can use your solution directly.
Hi Ricky27,
i insert my SD card all the time, i only removed battery to change SD card from 16gb SDHC class 10 to 16gb regular sd card, since this phone cannot detect SDHC class 10).
third party apps such below 3 items that you mentioned i only installed 1, clean master, thus i rarely use it except when i also get stressed abiut full memorry, when i use this app only for cleaning tumbnail that reach until 1,5gb
other apps such games, social app, camera perhaps around 25 in total
for me, i don't remember exactly when it start to error but i believe after i update my device to the latest firmware.
perhaps you dont have to wait your memorry to full, you can start by go to media storage,
clear data, force stop and disable and enable it again
or you can wait for the system got error by it self by downloading some file while the internal memory says its full.
please do ask me for further info, i'm here to help other user
Hi
I think we all appreciate Feri-Reza and others ideas and suggestions how to struggle and get our Xperia L's working in one way or another without doing periodically factory resets.
But remember, this is no solutions only workarounds.
The SOLUTION has to be brought to us from SONY and that ASAP!
I can accept it take some time to find the bug, do regression tests etc but it's unacceptable they don't give us som intermediate info of the progress.
SONY, what happens?
Guys lets go ahead and make sure to click the 'Me Too' button in the first post of this topic to show Sony that there are really a lot of affected users for this very inconvenient problem. Lets send Johan, the community manager in this forums the details he was requesting also, so that he can forward it to the people who will hopefully provide a fix for this.
