Hi.
I have an Xperia L1 model G3311, with Android 7.0. I had the phone about a year now but the problem with the camera started about a week ago.
After taking a picture the camera now freezes and even if I try to force stop it and start the app again, it doesn't work and it says another app may be using the camera. If I clear the cache and data, I force it close, and then I restart the phone, sometimes (not always) the camera works again, but after taking one or two pics it freezes again.
I have reinstalled the phone using the factory settings and the problem was not solved. I then used the software repare with my PC , and again the problem has not been solved.
Please advice.
I was going to suggest to test the phone in Safe mode but since you already repaired it with Xperia Companion then you should contact your Local Support to get it inspected/repaired
Thanks. How do I find where is the closest local support I have? I am in London, UK
Hi @Jcc2, sorry to hear about this.
As the software repair did not manage to improve the functionality of the camera, the best thing to do in this situation is to get in contact with your local support team as @uliwooly mentioned, they should be able to provide instructions on how to get the phone repaired or even better arrange for the phone to be sent to an authorized service center.
If you have any questions regarding the service such as routines, warranty and consumer laws, these kind of questions are best answered by your local support team as well, this due to the fact that this is a globally based support forum and such things varies a bit depending on were you are located.
I hope that helped!
Can you please tell me which authorised Sony service centres are in London, Uk, where I can go with my phone and show it to an specialist, as opposed to send it by post?
Hi again, @Jcc2.
Personally I am based in the Nordics so I am afraid that I have to refer you to the local support team for this matter as questions regarding service locations, warranty and consumer laws varies depending on where you are located. Simply click on the link below for their contact information, The UK support should be chosen by default.

Have a nice day and a great weekend!
So far any attempt to get the address of a local service centre in London has failed. I don't want to post my phone because if I decide not to get it repaired I have then to pay £15 to get it back. I want to hand it over a centre, get an assesment of the cost of the repair there, and if I don't want to repair it as it is too expensive and it would be cheaper for me to buy a new phone, take it home without paying anything. But Sony so far refuses to give me the information of such centres. To be honest, it feels like a scam to me to force customers to overpay for repairs, or for Sony to get free spare parts. I don't think I will be using Sony again.
