Sound delayed when playing from Youtube, Netflix, HBO etc.

Just took my first steps into the world of 4K with a KD-49XF7005 TV and a STR-DH790 A/V-receiver.

I have a Apple TV 4K connected to one of the HDMI inputs (on the receiver) and the sound output is through a 5.1 speaker system. When I start a video or film from Youtube, Netflix, HBO etc. there is a 1-2 second delay before the sound is heard. The sound is not out of sync, just delayed.

Best Regards,

Richard

That's normal that's the time it takes for the AV to check which audio file is played (PCM/Dolby/dts etc...) and to use the right codec to play it.

Hello @SkinnyCyclist,

have you tested the audio directly trough the TV to verify it is only delayed trough the sound system?

If you verified that, you could check, if your sounds system has a delay activated.
