Sony MDR-HW700DS
Hi I am trying to use these Headphones as part of my home cinema setup.
I have an LG Oled 55B8SLC tv
and a Denon AVR-X550BT amp
I am using Sky Q box. PS4 and a Panasonic DPUB450 UHD Bluray player to generate the signals
I am trying to connect the headphone base unit using the 4K through put, I now understand it may not be able to handle HDMI 2.
How can I get this to work and what if any hardware will I need. Please keep it simple!
Thanks (I have also posted this in audio but think this board is more appropriate)

Hi jma379,
I'm a bit confused to be honest. Does your TV support ARC? I've checked the connections guide in the help guide of the headphones and found that there are 2 different types of connection depending on the availability of the ARC function. If you can check this link: http://bit.ly/2G0wcyi, and let me know if it works.
Cheers,

No the system cannot seem to handle HDMI 2 so the only way to get the tv to work is bypass the headphone base unit

any word on this issue with HDMI 2, possible update or something. It's a shame that I cannot use the headphones to full advantage.
Thanks John

Hi jma379,
The headphones can be connected via HDMI cable only if the port on your TV supports HDMI ARC. If it doesn't support it, I'm afraid that you can't connect to via HDMI cable to the TV directly.

My TV does support ARC but when I connect the HDMI cable via the HW700 base the tv screen just shows an error screen saying the input device does not support HDCP, If I take the HW700 out of the loop it shows the image perfectly.
I have seen other sites that say this is a known issue with these headphones and base.
If so is there a work around which will allow me to use the full function of these headphones
Thanks J

Seems no one can give me a straight answer on this. If these headphones cannot currently support HDCP2.2 are there any plans to update the firmware. Seems a shame if not? Especially as this is was not made clear when I purchased them. Feel like I am just being ignored and I have seen posts on other AV support forums that seem to confirm this.
Can someone please just simply answer the question, Do these headphones and base unit support HDCP 2.2 or not?
