I am about to upgrade my webcam. There are many good webcams on the market, but it appears that Logitech's C920 is one of the best at the moment (March 2013). Therefore, I would appreciate if anybody could confirm or deny compatibility or suitability of Logitech's C920 HD Pro Webcam with BDP-S780 Blue Ray player for Skype telecommunication? It is unfortunate that Sony is reluctant to update their list at www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/BDP-S780/tips-and-solutions. :-(
Many thanks to everyone who could reply to this enquiry...

Hi,
i have not heard otherwise but the CMU-BR100 is the only one thats compatable.
Thank you for a quick reply. The fact that you have not heard about compatibility of BDP-S780 with other cameras does not make it exclusively compatible with CMU-BR100 only. Furthermore, SONY themselves confirm otherwise by providing a short list of other webcams compatible with the player (refer to the link provided in my question). Unfortunately they do not update the list with the new webcams. Hence my question remains relevant with respect to Logitech C920.
Hi,
Sony are not very good at keeping forum users up to date with latest news im afraid, the fact that the list in your link will not be having any more added to the list is not going to answer your query, may i suggest you contact Sony support and see if they can help you further, the support tab is at the top of the page.
On paper, any webcam that has the skype logo are supposed to be compatible with TV/BluRay player from any brand but in reality compatibility is not garanty lol
C900 was compatible but run only at 720p...which is teh max on a TV.
I doubt C920 will work on TV since Logitech release a specific TV webcam that works with TV.
