Hi Everyone,
I've just purchased a BDV-E670W and am very pleased with the ease of set up and the quality of the sound. I'd like to link the unit into my home wifi and am wondering if its possible to use a 3rd party dongle to achieve this. I have a spare available and would prefer to use it rather than going to the expense of sourcing another one from Sony. I've tried inserting it in both USB sockets and get the same result, i.e. "USB device unknown". I've also tried putting the driver disk in the DVD drive and the box is unable to read the files.... Any / all advice and guidence appreciated.
Thanks & regards,
Paul

Hi Paul,
welcome to Questions & Answers..
Unfortunately your 3rd party dongle will not work with the BDV-E670W in order to connect wirelessly you'll need to purchase the UWA-BR100..
Or alternatively use a set of homeplugs, something like the TP-Link HomePlug AV Ethernet Adapter Starter Kit,(example only as you may find cheaper alternatives) allows you to share data between your router & the device which is connected to the other homeplug via your home's existing AC power sockets..

Hi Paulbg1
I have a Netgear WNCE2001 which I purchased refurbished on ebay for £20, it was simple to set up, works flawlessly and best of all doesn`t need to be conected to anUSB port.
