BDP-S363 doesn't do what it says on the tin!

I have a BDP-S363, which hasn't seen a lot of use. It's supposed to playback BD-R and DVD-R discs but it doesn't recognize them. It only reads and plays pre-recorded Blu-Rays and DVDs. Is this player faulty?

Hi there

Can I point you to page 59 of the manual, check to make sure that you have the correct format for the files. The bluray player will not play video files (ie AVI, MPG, MP4) directly from the discs themselves, only MP3 and JPG.

If the BD-R and DVD-R are a direct rip of the disc or converted to the correct format for players (ie, not data discs), ensure that the media is correctly finalised. Also see page 60 of the manual.
